If there’s one thing I love about being 30 years old, it’s that I’ve entered brunch-season. At our age, there’s a brunch for everything, bridal shower, bachelorette, good-bye party. It’s a fun way to get a little boozy and not worry about what you’re eating so much. But as much as I love my bottomless mimosa brunches with some poached eggs…I gotta give it to your Sunday hangover cure brunch: Mexican mariscos. There’s nothing like some cold, lemon-infused shrimp to cool your stomach and settle your headache. And if you’re going to be in the Los Angeles area, there’s one place you must try: Mariscos Linda in Boyle Heights, Los Angeles.
This place is just astounding. You have the option of dining-in inside the restaurant or to take-out via the food truck parked right outside. The food truck is cash only, but there’s an ATM inside of the restaurant where the conjunto that’s playing might just tempt you to take a seat instead.
I recommend and will now eat nothing but their shrimp ceviche. It is meatily delicious! No scrimping on the camarón here! The large order of take-out containers are filled to the brim and they’ll even throw in avocados, tapatio packets, limes, and a bag of tosadas. All of that for $20. Yes, you can read it twice–$20. At that price, grab yourself a bottled Coke or Jarritos go home and watch some Hulu!
